Leia

My name is Leia Metz. I was born and raised in Roane County. At the age of 16, I became an early graduate of the Class of 2004 from Roane County High School. While attending RCHS, I completed Broadcasting I, II, & III, holding the titles of anchor, reporter, and producer for Roane County’s WRCH Channel 7 television station, transmitting both live and pre-recorded content. I am very proud of my 13 years of cheerleading experience ranging all the way from the little league team, “The Wildcats”, to the varsity team of the Roane County Raiders!

My family owned and operated a home cooking restaurant called “The Downtowner” in Ripley, WV for 21 years. Throughout my years working there, I was able to advance from dishwasher, to cook, to waitress, and ultimately became the business manager of the restaurant. This enabled me to learn and master the proper skill set and requirements of business operation and ownership.

Faith, family, and friends are my core values. I have been a lifelong member of Boggs Fork Community Church. My faith has taught me many things, but the lesson I hold dearest would be the humble fact of, a simple life is a happy life!

I am very grateful and excited to be given the opportunity to experience this new adventure of becoming a member of the WVRC Crew!! I look forward to many years to come, being a part of the WVRC Staff family!
