Drew

My name is Andrew Miller, and I am the owner/operator of WVRC 104.7FM, 1400AM, and 103.5FM. I took over as station owner on June 17, 2021, but I am certainly no stranger to the radio station, or to Roane County. In the Fall of 2023, I will be entering my 17th season as the Voice of Roane County Raider Sports on 104.7FM!

I was born and raised in Spencer, West Virginia, and I graduated from Roane County High School in 1997. I worked at WVRC 104.7FM as a DJ in high school from 1995 thru 1997, my first official job! Little did I know, 24 years later, I would return to take over the station I had worked at, so many years ago.

In 2002, I graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Sport Management, with a Minor in Business Administration. Life took many twists and turns over the next 9 years, eventually leading to a defining moment. In 2011, I embarked on a 5-month, 2,406 mile run across the United States of America, in an effort to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. The run began in Long Beach, California, and ended on the Roane County Courthouse lawn in Spencer, West Virginia. The run raised over $25,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project, and it changed my life forever.

Following the run, I went back to graduate school, earning my Masters in Teaching, with a specialization in Special Education. I was a Special Education teacher for Roane County Schools for 9 years, ending in June of 2021, when I purchased the radio station. I truly loved teaching, and I loved working with all my students. It was a very difficult decision to leave teaching, but the chance to own WVRC 104.7FM was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I had to take.

I am very excited about the opportunity to make this station the absolute best it can be! I have a great support staff, and we have a lot of great ideas we are working on in order to best serve our listeners and our advertisers, and the community at large! Stay tuned, exciting things are coming!!
